My Cup Runneth Over
My Cup Runneth Over is James Henderson’s 5th major recording project. It features listings from 3 different studio recording sessions. The first section was recorded in the Laguna Hills studio where all James Henderson’s recordings were tracked thus far.
Then, the second section in the album was recorded at a new recording studio, Pitch Blue Studio, in Wisconsin. Engineer Troy Groenke suggested that James might like to try an equally ambitious recording project but without as much travel and related logistical considerations. So, on a long weekend James, Troy, and Bassist Jon Evans drove to Wisconsin with a young new studio drummer Erik Schee. They recorded many good songs at that sessions, many of which are still being processed…
Then the last few songs on the album are Techno Remixes that were based on original songs by James Henderson; interesting that the Techno Remixes are released before the originals. (Well, the original version of “The Grinch 1994” by James Henderson is available on versions of the Saint Street album & online, but the studio quality versions of the Remixes are still in the works.) Well, if we’ve learned anything about James Henderson by now it’s that he’s not necessarily conventional. Enjoy the process!
